Abstract

The performance indicators of various multiservice telecommunications networks are analyzed, and methods for constructing converged communication networks using the SDN (Software-Defined Networking) concept are explored. The tasks of researching and analyzing the architecture SDN networks and their electronic switches, controllers, and OpenFlow-type software are considered. The modern networks under study are multiservice converged telecommunications networks that perform the tasks of routing, traffic monitoring, access control, and balancing network and subscriber loads on servers using the network’s SDN has emerged as a new global model, where the converged network of networks is programmable. This allows for simplified architecture and access control thanks to its programmability. Despite the emergence new converged network solutions, researchers continue to face complex challenges in addressing emerging issues related to the SDN concept. Based on this research, a structural diagram of an SDN network architecture based on multi-service converged communication networks, including a general SDN architecture, is proposed in a multi-service communication network, as well as a range options for distributing the control plane and data plane using the SDN concept and the OpenFlow architecture based on the SDN network. The study identified key performance criteria for multi-service converged communication networks based on SDN technology.
