Introduction

It is with great honor and professional responsibility that I assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology. Academic journals serve not only as platforms for disseminating knowledge, but as intellectual bridges that connect researchers, institutions, and global communities in the pursuit of scientific excellence.

In an era characterized by rapid technological advancement, global crises, and interdisciplinary transformation, the textile and fashion technology sectors are undergoing profound change. Sustainable textile manufacturing, circular production models, digital fashion innovation, smart textiles, and advanced material science are redefining how we design, produce, and consume apparel and textile products. Scholarly publishing in this field must therefore not only document these transformations but actively guide them through rigorous, ethical, and impactful research.

High-quality research must go beyond theoretical contribution; it should address real-world industrial challenges, foster technological innovation, and promote environmental and economic sustainability within textile engineering and fashion systems. Our journal is committed to maintaining rigorous peer-review standards, ensuring research integrity, and supporting emerging scholars alongside established academics who are shaping the future of textile science and fashion technology.

We believe that diversity of perspectives, methodological strength, and ethical responsibility are the cornerstones of impactful scientific publishing. As we move forward, our vision is to:

  1. Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration between textile engineers, fashion technologists, material scientists, and sustainability researchers.
  2. Promote evidence-based research with strong industrial and societal implications.
  3. Support innovation in sustainable manufacturing, digital transformation, and advanced functional materials.
  4. Strengthen global academic and industry partnerships within the textile and fashion ecosystem.

I invite researchers, reviewers, and editorial members to actively engage in shaping the future direction of the journal. Together, we can enhance its academic standing, expand its international reach, and uphold the highest standards of scholarly excellence in textile engineering and fashion technology.
