I am happy to introduce inaugural issue of International Robotics & Automation Journal – one of the exciting new journals from the publisher in the area of automation and robotics. IRATJ is an internationally peer-reviewed, fully refereed open access journal with a commitment to recognize state-of-the-art research in diversified areas of robotics and automation, including applications in various disciplines like agriculture, engineering, hazardous environments, space, etc. to eliminate human involvement. The intention is to provide an open access forum to report latest developments from theoretical studies, computational algorithm development and practical applications, particularly those that bridge theoretical studies and applications with significant potential for real world applications. IRATJ provides an excellent and exciting opportunity for researchers to consider publishing in this specialized journal at a time of great change surfacing across the globe.
As time goes, readers will see in this journal the high-quality, up-to-date and original research manuscripts alongside relevant and insightful reviews. Through open access, this forum will disseminates research papers, review articles, short communications, case reports, mini- reviews, opinions, letter to editors etc., on all aspects of research in robotics and automation field, with emphasis on matters of global interest. The journal thus invites papers that inspire and are vibrant, engaging and at the same time challenging. The paper categories include a short paper, critical reviews, and traditional research papers. The short paper category presents a contemporary and provocative opinion on an issue or synthesis of issues pertinent to automation and robotics. We, at the IRATJ also encourage critical reviews to provide a critical, concise and contemporary review of a particular theme of the journal. Finally, the research paper category is expected to demonstrate a sound theoretical, or methodological idea exhibiting a clear contribution to the knowledge in the themes of the journal, subject to the journal’s review process.
The phase of focusing on expanding and updating the IRATJ editorial board to embrace top experts is continuing. We would like to take this opportunity to thank current editorial board members for their commitment to the standards to which the journal aspires.
Last but not the least, any papers that prospective authors wish to submit, either individually or collaboratively, are much appreciated and we are sure these potential submissions will contribute to the success in the early development of the journal. Best wishes and thanks in advance for potential contribution to International Robotics & Automation Journal.
