Opinion
This is a relatively new concept, and if you do not know what it is, dear reader, I will ask the following: please go (at about 10.45) am to some place that has among its premises a warm a Play City, yak, Emotion, and others to name a few, will see a long line of impatient people, mostly women, ready to go, more timely than when going for the children to school, or even grandma's funeral.
The concept of pathological gambling refers to an irresistible desire to play, which goes hand in hand with a visible commitment, with an implied risking money or in kind; this desire is accompanied by extreme anxiety, and calms when and the person sitting is on the bench game and the first play, needless to say financial problems who undergo them and their partners and children is performed; Here we list the characteristics of this disease already listed in the International Classification of Diseases since 1992 features:
- the failure to resist the urge to play
- the growing sense of excitement and
- Voltage before going to play and
- the pleasant experience relief or time to play
Gamblers hardly assume they are ill or addicted to gambling, ignorance or fear of social rejection and stigma that their illness is a vice and not a disease, but ultimately meet the characteristics of entry to the club since addicts may even kill to steal and to settle his gambling debts, or increased frequency 20 times the suicide rate of the impossibility to continue playing and betting; 1 in 5 gamblers will have some suicidal event in his life.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 3% of adults suffer with a ratio of 3: 1, more women than men, especially seniors (that bingo and dominoes would not seem so harmful not; is estimated that there are about 2 million gambling addicts in Mexico, being a subclinical situation until the sudden advent of casinos, and no one could see or prevention due.
It's an addiction, it behaves like an addiction kills as such, costs the same or more, but the difference is that it is new, just know it in this country and there is a laboratory study that tells us its severity, but like any addictive origin, grows with indifference, lack of care and attention, ignorance and a touch of evil.
