Letter from Editor

As we welcome a new volume in 2026, it is both exciting and appropriate to recognize the extremely positive changes in the open-access model of scholarly publishing through the Internet, as well as how organizations such as MedCrave Online have created avenues for equitable access to scientific information that is high quality. The last decade has seen tremendous changes in academic publishing from the long-standing subscription-based models of the past, to a more collaborative open-access system that allows researchers and educators and others to have free access to quality science, as well as living in a global community where everyone has access to new ideas. This first issue of 2026 serves as an example of this shared intellectual effort.

Open Access: Principles and Potential

MedCrave is a leader in promoting an open-access model of the scholarly publishing process by making all scientific and educational materials freely available without charging subscription fees based upon the principle of having a fundamental belief in allowing all individuals to have free access to knowledge. By eliminating the economic barriers that restrict scholarly activity from reaching a broader audience, open-access journals enhance research collaboration, increase the sharing of knowledge between fields of study, and facilitate quicker and greater scientific and social advancement. In a world that faces many difficult challenges, whether they be related to the public health crisis, the environmental crisis, and the disruption of technology, having access to reliable scientific research in a timely manner will make a positive difference.

Authors' contributions become increasingly visible through open access, while simultaneously enhancing equitable participation in research.

Open access offers authors from low-resource environments or historically underrepresented communities with an opportunity to reach a global audience and allow them a voice in the international scholarly community.

There are more than 100 different journals, which are both specialty-specific and interdisciplinary, with the MedCrave Online Networks comprised of journals from medicine to science to technology to engineering to social science to arts and humanities. The vast array of journals symbolize the MedCrave philosophy of valuing diversity in the way of offering many different perspectives, disciplines, and areas of interest.

MedCrave is diversity of ideas and disciplines, and it is definitely the best place to discover original research, well thought-out review papers, case studies, and interpretive commentary across multiple disciplines and ideas. All the contributions displayed here further develop the research field and display how research in the 21st century represents a network of interconnected ideas and academic inquiry.

Ethical Integrity, Rigor, and Quality:

The foundation of this publishing effort is the firm belief in peer review that meets stringent ethical guidelines and in establishing rigorous editorial standards to maintain the scientific record's integrity, through a group of experts and experienced scholars serving on the MedCrave Editorial Boards. Each Member of the Editorial Board is responsible for ensuring original research, sound methodologies, ethical use of research, and global relevance within the research community. These principles establish a high degree of confidence in published works, creating trust in the applications of research and influencing evidence-based decision-making.

Promoting Collaboration and Engagement in Research:

As a result of the growth of data sharing and collaboration, the journal must act as a portal for connecting scholars, institutions, and practitioners in research. By utilizing Open Access platforms, researchers can share their research with a wider audience, providing many opportunities to establish new partnerships across borders and disciplines. As such, both new and established researchers can develop their scholarly identities, advance their careers, and find new opportunities to develop solutions for global problems.

Future: 2026 Priorities

As we start this new volume, our editorial vision is guided by the following priorities:

Promoting Cross-Disciplinary Dialogues — most research issues do not exist exclusively in one discipline and therefore our journals should facilitate cross-disciplinary, integrated, and innovative idea generation across disciplines.

Promoting Transparency in Methods — We want to see more clearly defined reporting standards, reproducible studies, and a willingness to provide open access (whenever possible) to your study data and writing protocols to others.

Promoting the Highest Ethical Standards of Research — Always upholding ethical standards in scientific research will help ensure the health and well-being of the scientific community and of the individual scientists and researchers conducting the studies and publishing their findings.

Promoting Inclusivity on a Global Scale — We will continue to support the authors and reviewers of our journals from all backgrounds with equal access to publishing opportunities.

In conjunction with engaging in the articles contained herein, I hope that you as a researcher, clinician, educator, student, or policymaker will take the time to engage with ideas, challenge assumptions, and propose ways to add to the collective knowledge base for the advancement and improvement of the human condition.

Let the year 2026 be filled with breakthrough collaborative innovation and transformative perspectives through Open Access Publishing and our ongoing commitment to improving human understanding!
