Background: This experiment was conducted to study the effect of water sources on farmed Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The physicochemical properties of three selected water sources were investigated. The effects of water quality changes on biochemical indicators and antioxidant levels in the fish living in these three water sources were also examined. Materials and methods : The first group of experimental ponds was supplied with Nile River water from the Ismailia Canal, the second group with groundwater from a reservoir on the farm, and the third group with a mixture of groundwater and Ismailia Canal water. The experiment lasted for two consecutive seasons in 2025, spring and summer. Results: The results showed significant changes in water quality in the three studied sources, but to varying degrees. Fish collected from the three areas also exhibited changes in biochemical indicators and antioxidant levels. Conclusions: The results showed differences in water quality. All three water sources are suitable for fish farming, but to varying degrees.
