Introduction

Following the chemical literature published over the past years, it is quite obvious that the number of publications dealing with organic chemistry and its allied branches is increasing at a very rapid pace. A cursory glance at the number of peer-reviewed journals presently available in only organic chemistry shows a count of more than 180 of these. This number becomes all the more staggering when coupled with the number of journals that publish bioorganic, medicinal, pharmaceutical, materials chemistry, etc related topics which fall broadly under applied organic chemistry. In short, chemistry researchers wishing to publish their work are beset with the problem of plenty and therefore a surfeit of choices. The crux of the matter is how does a conscientious organic chemistry researcher get to select a particular journal which caters to quality organic chemistry and allied research topics?

MOJ Bioorganic & Organic Chemistry (MOJBOC in short) was conceived keeping this very dilemma in mind. MOJBOC offers a one-stop eminent platform for all organic, bioorganic, and associated publications. It encompasses all themes that are sub-groups of organic chemistry including synthesis, structure elucidation, organometallics, computational chemistry, kinetics, and even organoleptic themes, to name a few. Additionally, it also covers bioorganic chemistry, interaction of chemicals on biological targets, biochemistry, Biocatalysis, metabolic pathways, and almost all of medicinal chemistry. A look at the subject classification outlined at the journal’s website reveals more than 35 broad topics. Published by MedCrave group who already have an established reputation in online scientific publishing, the MOJBOC comes as a big leap in the direction of interdisciplinary chemical research.

Apart from the usual research articles, review articles, and communications, the type of articles that are accepted are concept paper, commentary, mini-review, opinions, patent review, proceedings, etc. This gives the scientist a flexibility and wide array of choices often missing in other journals. Moreover, there is a team of nine honorable editors from different countries and from highly reputed universities, as also there are eleven associate editors to handle the assortment of manuscripts. The journal follows a strict anti-plagiarism policy, fair policy of peer-review, and has clear author guidelines in place pointing to its commitment to superior quality publishing.

Conclusion

One of the biggest advantages of publishing in MOJBOC is that the content is entirely online which makes technical dissemination highly accessible and fast. It is crucial that researchers worldwide should have easy access to relevant, high quality, and rapid availability of scientific data. This is what open access journals like MOJBOC do and this is our main focus and commitment. The journal, therefore, promises to be a great platform for exchange of scientific communication for budding as well as well-established organic chemists.
