The formation and production of scientific disciplines in different countries are done according to the structural characteristics and needs of the communities. That's why certain specialty courses are different in various countries, while having a single goal and more or less answer to the same needs.

Dentistry courses in different countries are called by different titles as Stomatology and Dentistry. These are different in terms of content which sometimes create differences in their attitude to professional problems.
Integration and training in general and specialized courses in the world is most ideal way to align and at the same time promoting the specialized courses.

In recent months, a very positive measure has been taken on behalf of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which could be a new horizon for educational integration and scientific unifying of oral and maxillofacial surgery specialists around the world was created.

This event took place in March 2015 in Japan. In that day, the first international board exam for certified oral and maxillofacial surgery specialists was held. It was an attempt to determine the content of educational curriculum and training of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the world, and certification for the content of education would be admitted to the test.

Permission to participate in this exam is given to those who have graduated from at least a 3-years credible program in their own country and have prepared the details of the codified plan, educational curriculum and daily report of before and after graduation.

However this certificate does not create a business license, but as a high standard exam, it provides a unified certificate for its holders, which can provide foundations for further cooperation of experts around the world in planning scientific and clinical goals to promote more favorable treatment deadline.

Due to the formation of general dentistry in distant past, when there were great structural differences in societies, the structure of Dentistry has many differences in different communities. But the formation of specialized dental disciplines happened in the not too distant past, due to more international communications, forms and their content came closer together.

The action of International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons can be a model for positive change in educational planning of other specialized dental disciplines in order to standardize these fields at international level. There isn’t any doubt that it would be a great source of developments.

Despite the differences of training and internships in dentistry in different countries, International exams derived from educational curriculum and comprehensive internship agreed in different countries in the field of General Dentistry could be a major step towards convergence in Dentistry and education in this field at the international level to promote standards which based on it, specialty fields of dentistry would have greater consistency worldwide.
